West End Girls is a VCR (video cassette tape) era fanvid by Katharine Scarritt

Fandom: The Professionals, a UK TV series

In the Media Cannibals Songtape #4 booklet Katharine wrote: "

After I'd been into Pros for a while, I wanted to do a vid that was not as heavily story-driven as my usual, one where I could use fast cuts and clips from the show that are otherwise rarely seen in vids. Then there was the fan- extrapolated near canon of Doyle always going for classy and/or "bad" women, overreaching himself. This is the song that made me give up vidding 8 or 9 years ago, because I had done all these very tight cuts and

closely timed clips, and yet no matter how hard I worked, the source material was always going to look mediocre. In the meantime I've acquired better tapes and better equipment and I'm delighted with the way

it's all turned out."
