Blectum From Blechdom

An album release party for "Anti-Venom" the newest hard-freak solo release from Blevin Blectum on Deathbomb Arc described in The Stranger as "a pixie-dusted Harry Partch composition [and] the closest you'll ever get to experiencing a DMT trip without ingesting anything." But that's not all, prepare to be pre-buttered by the full onslaught of her truly legendary duo with Kristin Erickson, Blectum From Blechdom. Hyper-melodic glitches and helium-contaminated Broadway arrangements are interwoven with brocaded beats and elegant fractal architectures, sending an important message: Brain go crazy now!

Chris Brown

The San Francisco premiere of "rhythmiChrome" with video accompaniment by Johanna Poethig will see legendary innovator Chris Brown perform in one of the few venues that can boast a longer legacy than his own, the Peacock Lounge! When cocktails in plastic cups meet the Cowell-Theremin instrument-concept of the Rhythmicon machine, you'll want a front row seat. Electronically generated rhythms fuel improvisation in harmonic-rhythmic modes using subsets of tunings from Harry Partch’s 43-tone Chromelodeon reed-organ. Since the late '70s, Brown has been building personal electronic instruments, using analog circuits to modify acoustic devices' sounds, and mixing these with concrete and synthetic sounds. A bit of homework is highly recommended ahead of this show, check out his site and recordings with Oliveros, Zorn, Mori, Frith, Winant and more on Tzadik, Artifact, and Ecstatic Peace! labels.

Lori Goldston & Zachary James Watkins

Strings laid sideways and again sideways form a heavy frequency generator of processed cello and guitar, but the exceptional factor is less the generator than the twin receivers driving them: Lori Goldston (Earth, Nirvana) and Zachary James Watkins (Foreign/Domestic, Black Spirituals) distill the consciousness-infinity nexus through somatic-magnetic flumes that gather and deepen until finally spilling from loudspeakers. You'll find your own infinite sluice gushing when their entangled improvistions sink your ears, pulling you in under above and beneath the murky top. Don't miss this debut album-release party, recorded in Seattle at the legendary Avast! Recording Company studio.

Earth Jerks

Since less is more, nothing is the ultimate. Easier said than survived though. Walk, don't run to the glacial tempo of Christian Dixon's emo-surf-drone that reveals far more space, time and flow than you'll ever ride out. With no shore in sight why surrender your senses to dread or distraction? Electromagnetism, gravitation, nuclear force both strong and weak already churn within, so lay your ear to the rocks above and below and between your ears. Hear what you're hearing, know what you already know.
